Kick off the new school year with the 2017 student-designed HI Pride t-shirt available at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Bookstore System<\/a>. This year\u2019s HI Pride T-Shirt Design Contest winner is UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa student Kathyrine Cabalar of ʻEwa<\/span> Beach.<\/p>\n

Cabalar received almost 500 votes for her design that depicts the Hawaiian island chain encircled by the sun\u2019s reflection in the ocean. She said that her design symbolizes her pride in being a part of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>\u2019s community in which nature and people are harmoniously connected.<\/p>\n

HI Pride t-shirt colors<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The 2017 HI Pride shirts will be available in all UH<\/abbr> Bookstores from August 14. The shirts will be available in black and white (with green print) as well as all UH<\/abbr> System campus colors:<\/p>\n

  • UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa—dark green<\/li>\n
  • UH<\/abbr> Hilo and Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> CC<\/abbr>—bright red<\/li>\n
  • UH<\/abbr> Maui College—dark blue<\/li>\n
  • UH<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span>—dark red<\/li>\n
  • Honolulu CC<\/abbr>—teal<\/li>\n
  • Kauaʻi<\/span> CC<\/abbr>—purple<\/li>\n
  • Kapiʻolani<\/span> CC<\/abbr>—royal blue<\/li>\n
  • Leeward CC<\/abbr>—light blue<\/li>\n
  • Windward CC<\/abbr>—light green<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Students with a valid UH<\/abbr> ID<\/abbr> are eligible for a discount on the first shirt they purchase.<\/p>\n

    Smartphone wallets featuring this year\u2019s HI Pride design will also be available in assorted colors.<\/p>\n

    The annual HI Pride T-Shirt Design Contest—now in its sixth year—is held each spring and open to all UH<\/abbr> students. Students are asked to submit designs that show what HI Pride (or Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Pride) means to them.
