The tournament raised $1,731 to support the 2011 Aloha United Way <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O\u02bbahu<\/span> Campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Teams from the six <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O\u02bbahu<\/span> <abbr>UH<\/abbr> campuses\u2014<a href=\"http:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/\">M\u0101noa<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/westoahu.hawaii.edu\/\">West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O\u02bbahu<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.honolulu.hawaii.edu\">Honolulu<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/kapiolani.hawaii.edu\"><span aria-label=\"Kapiolani\">Kapi\u02bbolani<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leeward.hawaii.edu\/\">Leeward<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/windward.hawaii.edu\/\">Windward<\/a>\u2014along with the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> System administration and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.auw.org\/\">Aloha United Way<\/a> competed in a double elimination tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Aloha United Way President Kim Gennaula delivered the inaugural pitch, with <abbr>UH<\/abbr> System Vice President for Student Affairs and University\/Community Relations <strong>Rockne Freitas<\/strong> serving as catcher and M\u0101noa Assistant Athletics Director <strong>Marilyn Moniz-Kahoohanohano<\/strong> at bat.<\/p>\n<p>With dedicated fans, door prizes, garlic fries and donations collected throughout the evening, the teams played hard until the final game between Honolulu Community College and <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa with M\u0101noa claiming the 2011 championship. <strong>Debra Ishii<\/strong>, M\u0101noa team captain, and her team took home the coveted President\u2019s Trophy along with bragging rights for the year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M&#257;noa won the 6th Annual <abbr title=\"Aloha United Way\">AUW<\/abbr> Softball Tournament. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":16,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[26],"tags":[62,63,65,9,947,59,66],"class_list":["post-636","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-community","tag-honolulu-community-college","tag-kapiolani-community-college","tag-leeward-community-college","tag-uh-manoa","tag-uh-system","tag-uh-west-oahu","tag-windward-community-college","entry","has-media"],"aioseo_notices":[],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/636","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/16"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=636"}],"version-history":[{"count":40,"href":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/636\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":174325,"href":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/636\/revisions\/174325"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=636"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=636"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=636"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
