Held at the Fairmont Kea Lani, the event will feature students working alongside Maui&#8217;s most notable chefs in a not-to-be-missed culinary journey to the <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> of yester-year. Reception begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by sit-down dinner at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s theme &ldquo;Hawaiian Renaissance&rdquo; delights the senses with d\u00e9cor, fashion and traditional local entertainment. Utilizing local produce, ingredients and techniques paired with the islands rich culture, the student chefs will work alongside their professional mentors to create an experience that will transport you back to days gone by of old <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Maui&#8217;s top celebrity chefs will present appetizers at the cocktail reception created and prepared by a chef student team. Prior to the event, <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> Maui College Culinary Arts students work side-by-side with the chefs in their restaurants for hands-on training. Being involved in the process&#8212;from developing a menu item through the delivery of locally sourced, world-class cuisine&#8212;prepares students as they &ldquo;learn by doing&rdquo; for their transformation into the next generation of professional chefs.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s celebrity chefs include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lee Anderson&#8212;Sugar Beach Events<\/li>\n<li>Isaac Bancaco&#8212;<span aria-label=\"Kaana\">Ka&#699;ana<\/span> Kitchen at Andaz Maui<\/li>\n<li>Robert Barrera&#8212;Cane and Canoe at Montage Kapalua<\/li>\n<li>Lyndon Honda&#8212;Sheraton Maui Resort<\/li>\n<li>Travis Morrin&#8212;Three&#8217;s Bar and Grill<\/li>\n<li>Geno Sarmiento&#8212;Nick&#8217;s Fish Market<\/li>\n<li>Alvin Savella and Kenneth Sniffen&#8212;The Banyan Tree Restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua<\/li>\n<li>Roger Stettler&#8212;Taverna<\/li>\n<li>Ryan Urig&#8212;The Grand Wailea Resort<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The reception will be followed by a sit-down, coursed dinner prepared and served by the <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> Maui College Culinary Arts Program faculty, Chef <strong>Tom Lelli<\/strong> and Chef <strong>Craig Omori<\/strong>, and students. The evening wraps up with a surprise dessert finale by Four Seasons Resort Maui Executive Pastry Chef Bruce Trouyet and a special pastry art presentation by <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> Maui College Culinary Arts Program Coordinator and Pastry Chef Instructor <strong>Teresa Shurilla<\/strong> and her students.<\/p>\n<p>After sampling the appetizers, guests can cast their vote for their favorite appetizer, and the winning celebrity chef team will be recognized on stage.<\/p>\n<p>Handcrafted cocktails featuring local island producers Maui Winery, <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> Sea Spirits and <span aria-label=\"Haliimaile\">Hali&#699;imaile<\/span> Distillery will be created by master mixologists, and a selection of fine wines will be available during the reception and paired with the dinner courses.<\/p>\n<p>The Noble Chef is <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Maui College Culinary Arts Program&#8217;s largest annual fundraiser, with proceeds directly supporting culinary education, student career advancement, and community service.
