Founded under the leadership of the <abbr>UHFCU<\/abbr> Board of Directors, the scholarship program establishes a lasting legacy&#8212;potentially benefiting generations of students as well as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/\"><abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> System<\/a> the credit union serves.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 2017-2018 scholarship winners and their schools<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Alexander Lum<\/strong>&#8212;Incoming freshman at <a href=\"http:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/\"><abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Rachel Utu<\/strong>&#8212;Incoming freshman at <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa<\/li>\n<li><strong>Christina Kaleiwahea<\/strong>&#8212;Continuing undergraduate at <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dianne Raquiz<\/strong>&#8212;Continuing undergraduate at <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pearlena Stone<\/strong>&#8212;Continuing undergraduate at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uhwo.hawaii.edu\/\"><abbr>UH<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&ldquo;It is inspiring to see the quality and amount of talented, driven and deserving young people who apply for our scholarships each year. It&#8217;s been a tremendous challenge for our scholarship committee to select our recipients from a pool of such outstanding students,&rdquo; said <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii Federal Credit Union\">UHFCU<\/abbr> President and <abbr title=\"Chief Executive Officer\">CEO<\/abbr> <strong>Jeanine Morse<\/strong>. &ldquo;<abbr>UHFCU<\/abbr> was founded upon the legacy and critical importance of the <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> System education as well as giving back to our members and the local community. We&#8217;re pleased to award these scholarships to such deserving and outstanding recipients as they pursue their academic goals.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<h2>More about the <abbr>UHFCU<\/abbr> scholarship<\/h2>\n<p><abbr>UHFCU<\/abbr>&#8217;s Scholarship Program requires that applicants are <abbr>UHFCU<\/abbr> members or family members thereof. Scholarships were available for incoming freshmen as well as continuing college students of the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> System.
