Windward Community College’s Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Music Institute is offering music workshops for students to polish their slack key and steel guitar skills with guitar masters Ron Loo and Bobby Ingano, and study with Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>’s voice coach to the stars, Neva Rego.<\/p>\n

The cost for each workshop is $20. To register, call (808) 235-7433 or go in person to Windward’s Office of Career and Community Education, Hale Kuhina building.<\/p>\n

The music workshops are sponsored by the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Music Institute and Ke Kumu Pali.<\/p>\n

Steel Guitar with Bobby Ingano<\/h2>\n

Wednesday, May 16, 6–8 p.m., Hale Pālanakila 104<\/p>\n

This workshop will focus on comping, mental framework, techniques on holding the bar and C6 tuning. Steel Guitar Master Bobby Ingano will use the sight and sound technique to share his steel guitar artistry.<\/p>\n

Slack Key Guitar with Ron and Pomaikaʻi<\/span> Loo<\/h2>\n

Thursday, May 17, 6–8 p.m., Hale Pālanakila 104<\/p>\n

This workshop will focus on the open G tuning and the chords and lyrics of a traditional song using the tablature method.<\/p>\n

Voice with Neva Rego<\/h2>\n

\nSaturday, May 19, 10 a.m.–Noon, Hale Pālanakila 104<\/p>\n

This workshop will focus on vocal techniques—breathing, placement, pitch and the legato line.<\/p>\n
