The people have spoken! Leeward Community College<\/a> was selected for Best Career\/Technical Education and the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa<\/a> was named Best College in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser<\/em> Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>\u2019s Best People\u2019s Choice Awards<\/a> released on Sunday, June 18.<\/p>\n

Also recognized as Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>\u2019s Best were Honolulu CC<\/abbr><\/a> second and Kapiʻolani<\/span> CC<\/abbr><\/a> third on the career\/technical education list and UH<\/abbr> Hilo second on the college list. Leeward Theatre<\/a> also won second place in the live theater category.<\/p>\n

“I’m so proud of winning these awards for three years in a row!” said Chancellor Manny Cabral<\/strong>. “Our workforce development continues to expand in both credit and non-credit areas. Being selected as Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>\u2019s Best is a reflection of the dedication and hard work of everyone at the college. We\u2019re also thrilled for the second place award for our theatre, which is currently undergoing a long-awaited renovation.”<\/p>\n

Dean of Leeward’s Career and Technical Education<\/a> Ron Umehira<\/strong> added, “Our appreciation goes out to all those that voted for Leeward CC<\/abbr> and recognized the quality of programs.”<\/p>\n

“We are gratified and humbled that UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa has been recognized as Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>\u2019s Best College,“ said Interim UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Chancellor David Lassner<\/strong>. “We stand committed to strengthen the campus as a student-centered research university that embodies a Hawaiian place of learning with strong support services that help every student realize their dreams. We can\u2019t wait to welcome our fall 2017 incoming class.”<\/p>\n
