The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa<\/a> was honored with Tree Campus USA<\/abbr> recognition by the Arbor Day Foundation<\/a> for its commitment to effective urban forest management.<\/p>\n

UH<\/abbr> Mānoa achieved the title by meeting Tree Campus USA<\/abbr>®’s five standards, which include maintaining a tree advisory committee, a campus tree-care plan, dedicated annual expenditures for its campus tree program, an Arbor Day observance and student service-learning project. Currently there are 296\u00a0campus across the United States with this recognition.<\/p>\n

“It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized again by the Arbor Day Foundation,” said Roxanne Adams<\/strong>, the director of buildings and grounds at UH<\/abbr> Mānoa. “The M\u0101noa campus is such a special place, and we think that our 4,000 plus trees that feature 500 different species are a big part of what makes it special. We love our trees.”<\/p>\n
