The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Community Colleges collaborate for Coolin’aire—Culinary Jazz Odyssey<\/a>, a one-time performance June 10, 7:30 p.m. at Windward CC<\/abbr>’s Palik\u016b Theatre<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Created and directed by Kapiʻolani<\/span> CC<\/abbr><\/a> Chef John Richards<\/strong>, Coolin’aire is a blend of Hell’s Kitchen<\/em>, the Food Network, TV<\/abbr> reality shows, and a dash of the theatrical Stomp<\/em>. It is a musical performance that is a feast for the senses with a cast comprised of musician cooks who provide the soundtrack for the student percussion chefs featured on center stage. Coolin’aire is a love story about cooking and human nature with an alpha male chef and a humble female pastry chef who have very different ideas about cuisine, and the ultimate, chocolate!<\/p>\n

The proceeds from the collaboration between Kapiʻolani<\/span>, Honolulu<\/a> and Windward CC<\/abbr>s will support the Hiilaniwai Foodservice Innovations Training<\/a> program at Windward and the Kapiʻolani<\/span> Culinary Competition team<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Richards recommends everyone “Stay to the end of the performance for an extraordinary, delightful, and consummate surprise!”<\/p>\n
