Each year in Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>, more than 11,000 graduating seniors must decide whether to attend college or join the workforce. In the short term, going to college is costly, however, in the long term, the investment in college pays off handsomely through a lifetime of higher earnings. A University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Economic Research Organization<\/a> (UHERO) report estimates the overall rate of return for a University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> degree for those who continue to reside in Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> is approximately 11 percent.<\/p>\n

On average, for each $1 a UH<\/abbr> student invests in their associate’s degree, they receive $13.84 in increased lifetime earnings. For bachelor’s and post-graduate degrees, the effective lifetime returns on each $1 are $11.09 and $8.65, respectively.<\/p>\n
