Go to the <a href=\"http:\/\/gallery.windward.hawaii.edu\/voyaging\/\">Gallery <span aria-label=\"Iolani\">&#699;Iolani<\/span> <em>Voyaging<\/em> website<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<h2>Special events<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Opening Reception<\/strong><br \/>\nJanuary 29, 2&#8211;4 p.m.<br \/>\nThe opening reception is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Special guest James Kimo Hugho<\/strong><br \/>\nCrew member on the original <span aria-label=\"Hokulea\">H&#333;k&#363;le&#699;a<\/span> voyage in 1976 to Tahiti and back, Hugho will be at the opening reception to talk about his experience and introduce his recently published book, <a href=\"http:\/\/familyofthecanoe.com\/purchase.html#innerContentBooks\"><em><span aria-label=\"Hokulea\">H&#333;k&#363;le&#699;a<\/span> Ohana <span aria-label=\"Waa\">Wa&#699;a<\/span>, Family of the Canoe<\/em><\/a>, about the creation, voyages and travails of the famed sailing vessel during its early years.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Free Imaginarium Special Showing (4 p.m. directly after opening reception)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Maunakea: Between Earth and Sky<\/em>, a locally produced program that connects the culture, mythology and science of the sacred mountain will be offered free of charge at Windward <abbr title=\"Community College\">CC<\/abbr>&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/aerospace.wcc.hawaii.edu\/imaginarium.html\">H&#333;k&#363;lani Imaginarium<\/a> for gallery patrons. Limited seating.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>N&#257; One H&#257;nau o <span aria-label=\"Hokulea\">H&#333;k&#363;le&#699;a<\/span>: Terrestrializing Cosmic Space in <span aria-label=\"Hakipuu\">Hakipu&#699;u<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nMarch 5, 3 p.m.\u2028<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Special guest speaker Ian Masterson, aka The Surf Professor will discuss how <span aria-label=\"Hakipuu\">Hakipu&#699;u<\/span> became the birthplace of the voyaging canoe <span aria-label=\"Hokulea\">H&#333;k&#363;le&#699;a<\/span>.
