Honolulu Community College<\/a> Chancellor Erika Lacro<\/a><\/strong> received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award<\/a> on January 9. Chancellor Lacro was nominated by Brent Rubio<\/a><\/strong>, sergeant first class with the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Army National Guard and a chemistry instructor at Honolulu CC<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n

“Chancellor Lacro has shown sincere commitment to supporting not only the faculty and staff that serve in the National Guard and Reserves, but also\u00a0to hundreds of our student veterans on campus by giving her\u00a0support\u00a0for VA<\/abbr> programs on campus. This kind of\u00a0example from the very top of the Honolulu CC<\/abbr> leadership creates a campus-wide culture of support for our veterans, guard personal and reservists,” shares Rubio, who has served with the guard since 1998.<\/p>\n
