University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa’s<\/a> Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs has initiated the formal search process for the regular appointment of the dean and director for Research and Cooperative Extension<\/a> of the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources<\/a> (CTAHR) and dean of the College of Engineering<\/a>.<\/p>\n

College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources<\/h2>\n

“The College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources, the founding college of the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>, remains an\u00a0indispensable resource to the citizens of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>,” said Interim Vice Chancellor Michael Bruno<\/a><\/strong>. “As a center of learning, research and service to the\u00a0agriculture community, CTAHR<\/abbr> helps ensure that our state’s natural resources are used wisely and sustainably. The new dean will be expected to build on this long tradition and lead the faculty and staff in expanding and enhancing the critically important work of the college.“<\/p>\n

College of Education<\/a> Dean Donald Young<\/a><\/strong>, will chair the search advisory committee.<\/p>\n

College of Engineering<\/h2>\n

“The College of Engineering is an engine for leading edge,\u00a0applications-oriented research and entrepreneurship on the Mānoa campus,” said Bruno.\u00a0“The college is also the state’s primary provider of education and training in\u00a0critically needed engineering disciplines. The new dean will be expected to lead the faculty and staff in working closely with our state and federal stakeholders, including the STEM<\/abbr> education community, to achieve significant growth in the education, research and service activities of the college.”<\/p>\n

School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene<\/a> Dean Mary Boland<\/a><\/strong> will chair the search advisory committee.<\/p>\n

The committees include chairs, faculty, staff and students from their respective units, as well as representatives from the Kualiʻi Council and UH<\/abbr> alumni\/community.<\/p>\n

Both Young and Boland will recommend finalists to Bruno, who in turn will recommend a selectee to UH<\/abbr> Mānoa Interim Chancellor David Lassner<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Review of applications will begin in November, and will continue until the position is filled.<\/p>\n
