Graduates from the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa 2015 class William S. Richardson School of Law<\/a> are carrying the least amount of law school debt among 183 ranked U.S.<\/abbr> law schools, according to a recent survey by U.S.<\/abbr> News & World Report<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Average debt for 2015 UH<\/abbr> law school graduates who took out loans to pay for their legal education was $54,988. That was less than half the average debt nationally among the 183 law schools that submitted data to U.S.<\/abbr> News<\/em>. The average debt nationally for graduates from those schools was $112,748.<\/p>\n

“This goes to show that we really are an affordable option for law school,” said Cyrelle White<\/a><\/strong>, UH<\/abbr> law school financial aid manager. “And it also shows that our students are making really smart financial decisions.”<\/p>\n

U.S.<\/abbr> News<\/em> released the latest law school debt information as one of its \u201cshort list\u201d surveys, compiling a list of the 10 most cost effective law schools from among those ranked in the U.S.<\/abbr> Of the 10 schools listed in which graduates borrowed the least, the average debt was $62,735.<\/p>\n
