The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> was well represented in the Star Advertiser<\/em>’s 2016 Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>’s Best Awards in the education categories. UH<\/abbr> Mānoa<\/a> and UH<\/abbr> Hilo<\/a> placed first and second in the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>’s Best College category, and Leeward<\/a>, Honolulu<\/a> and Kapiʻolani<\/span><\/a> Community Colleges placed first, second and third, respectively in the Best Career\/Technical Education category.<\/p>\n

The Leeward Theatre<\/a> also won second place in the Live Theater category.<\/p>\n

Leeward CC<\/abbr> Chancellor Manny Cabral<\/a><\/strong> received the First Place plaque at the Star Advertiser<\/em>’s Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>’s Best Award celebration on June 20 at the Pacific Club. “We are so happy to repeat our first and second place awards,” he said. “Being selected as Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>’s Best is a reflection of the dedication and hard work of everyone at the college.”<\/p>\n

“We are very happy to have been recognized as Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>’s Best in Career and Technical Education for the second year in a row and for our second place finish in Live Theater,” saidLeeward’s Career and Technical Education Dean Ron Umehira<\/strong>. “Our appreciation goes out to all those that voted for Leeward CC<\/abbr> and recognized the quality of our credit and non-credit career and technical programs and the performances in our theater.”<\/p>\n
