University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> President David Lassner<\/strong><\/a> today announced the members of the UH<\/abbr> Mānoa<\/a> Chancellor Search Advisory Committee and a general timeline for the selection process.<\/p>\n

“This position is critical, not only to the future of Â鶹´«Ã½Mānoa, but also to the university system and our entire state,” said Lassner. “UH<\/abbr> Mānoa’s next chancellor must provide strong leadership in the increasingly dynamic landscape for higher education, while continuing Mānoa’s tradition of excellence as one of the world’s great research universities. The next chancellor must lead the campus forward with a spirit of collaboration and a commitment to excellence.”<\/p>\n

Search Advisory Committee<\/h2>\n

The 20-member committee includes representation from the faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, the Kualiʻi<\/span> Native Hawaiian council, staff, administrators and community leaders.<\/p>\n

      Search Timeline<\/h3>\n

      The search advisory committee is beginning its work this month. Screening of applicants and nominees is expected to begin by June 2016.<\/p>\n

      The on-campus visits by the finalists will be planned for the start of the fall 2016 semester to ensure that students, faculty, staff and other stakeholders are able to attend.<\/p>\n

      The president will plan to submit a recommendation for appointment to the Board of Regents during the fall 2016 semester. The start date of the new chancellor will be determined as part of the selection process.<\/p>\n
