The audience will encounter sacred akua (gods), <span aria-label=\"kiai\">kia&#699;i<\/span> (guardians) and people of the land. Three current-day Hawaiian youths help tell the tales making way for a fun, exciting adventure for the whole family to enjoy.<\/p>\n<h2>Bringing stories to life<\/h2>\n<p><em><span aria-label=\"Hai moolelo\">Ha&#699;i mo&#699;olelo<\/span><\/em> (telling of stories) brings to life epic journeys, battles and family history. Three modern day young Hawaiian students relate the epic of Kaulu&#8217;s birth, and the jealous rage of his older brother, who, envious of Kaulu&#8217;s prodigous mana (power), attempts to usurp him.<\/p>\n<p>Along the way they share the origins of the pahu (drum), encounter <span aria-label=\"moo\">mo&#699;o<\/span>, witness the brave voyage of Kila, tell tales of epic battles between Kaulu and a dog-man, giant shark and the mighty gods Kane and Kanaloa. Through their sharing these stories of the Windward side live on.<\/p>\n<h2>About the director<\/h2>\n<p><em>Tales of <span aria-label=\"Koolaupoko\">Ko&#699;olaupoko<\/span><\/em> is directed by the acclaimed Moses Goods. Originally from the island of Maui, Goods is a professional storyteller, writer and award winning actor. He has traveled the, globe performing to audiences in Germany, Canada, the Solomon Islands, New York and Washington <abbr title=\"District of Columbia\">DC<\/abbr> to name a few. Currently Moses performs in a one-man show that he also wrote about the legendary surfer and swimmer Duke Kahanamoku.
