Black History Month in February is centered around celebrating the historical and cultural contributions of African Americans, as well as raising awareness about the African American experience in the U.S.<\/abbr> Reflecting upon the legacy of profound African American leaders, this month provides an opportunity to honor all that African Americans have done towards the betterment of society.<\/p>\n

In honor of Black History month, UH<\/abbr> Hilo<\/a> and UH<\/abbr> Mānoa<\/a> will host the following events.<\/p>\n

The events that have been planned at the UH<\/abbr> Hilo will provide a cultural perspective and opportunity for the institution, faculty, staff and students to learn about the achievements of African Americans and the lasting impact they have made.<\/p>\n
