Happy graduates at UH<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span> commencement

The holidays bring an added cause for celebration for graduates who will be participating in fall commencement exercises at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>—UH<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span><\/a>, UH<\/abbr> Hilo<\/a> and UH<\/abbr> Mānoa<\/a>.<\/p>\n

UH<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span><\/h2>\n

UH<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span> celebrates more than 261 graduates, the university’s largest ever graduating class. Former UH<\/abbr> president and UH<\/abbr> Mānoa chancellor Albert Simone<\/strong> will give the keynote address.<\/p>\n

“I look forward to commencement every semester,” said UH<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span> Chancellor Rockne Freitas<\/strong>. “The students and their families have so much to celebrate and their dedication makes me truly proud to represent this great university.”<\/p>\n

UH<\/abbr> Hilo<\/h2>\n

UH<\/abbr> Hilo will confer a total of 290 degrees and\/or certificates at the fall 2015 commencement ceremony. Sherry Menor-McNamara<\/strong>, the youngest and first female president and chief executive officer of the Chamber of Commerce of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span><\/a>, will deliver the keynote address.<\/p>\n

Zachary Tman<\/strong>, an anthropology and cell and molecular biology major, who is also pursuing a minor in chemistry, will represent the graduating class as student speaker.<\/p>\n

UH<\/abbr> Mānoa<\/h2>\n

Approximately 1,100 UH<\/abbr> Mānoa students are eligible to receive degrees and certificates to conclude the fall academic term. Keynote speaker and honorary degree recipient is Robert K. Masuda<\/strong>, retired YMCA<\/abbr> executive and public servant. <\/p>\n

Pualani Armstrong, an elementary and special education and political science major, will represent the graduating class as student speaker.<\/strong><\/p>\n
