Among over 8,500 students from across the nation who participated in the conference, <abbr>UH<\/abbr> students shone bright and brought home accolades for their hard work in various competition categories.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_36451\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-36451\" style=\"width: 620px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/hilo-hosa-team.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"452\" class=\"size-full wp-image-36451\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/hilo-hosa-team.jpg 620w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/hilo-hosa-team-260x190.jpg 260w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-36451\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Members of the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Hilo <abbr>HOSA<\/abbr> Team with advisor Cecilia Mukai<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><abbr>UH<\/abbr> Hilo sent two public service announcement (<abbr>PSA<\/abbr>) teams to the conference who were tasked with developing a 30-second <abbr>PSA<\/abbr> on Concussion: Prevention and Recognition. Team B, which consisted of Chapter President <strong>Lark Jason Canico<\/strong>, <strong>Shane Naeole<\/strong> and <strong>Taumata Tue Vaea<\/strong> (serving as an alternate from <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa), took 1st place.
