It was a record breaking number as the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa graduation rate continues the climb. <\/p>\n<p>Every graduate has a unique story of what it took to reach this milestone, like <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa psychology major <strong>Victoria Chang<\/strong>, who gave the graduate address. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It means a lot considering I actually dropped out of high school at the age of 15, and I never thought that I would have attended a university,&rdquo; said Chang. <\/p>\n<p>Her message was simple but important: &ldquo;Just to keep going to keep persevering and follow your passion but also follow hard work with it as well.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>Thousands of family and friends packed the arena to witness the momentous occasion. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Education is important to <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>, it&#8217;s important to our future and it&#8217;s important to these children of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>,&rdquo; said <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa  Chancellor <strong>Robert Bley Vroman<\/strong>. &ldquo;Education is not just about getting a job, education is about creating a free society, a civil society and educated society.
