More than 500 Â鶹´«Ã½alumni and friends recognized this year&#8217;s honorees at the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Distinguished Alumni Awards dinner on May 13 at the Sheraton Waik&#299;k&#299; Hotel.<\/p>\n<h2>2015 Distinguished Alumni Award honorees<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_34727\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34727\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/distinguished-alumni-2015-graphic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"259\" class=\"size-full wp-image-34727\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-34727\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">2015 <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Distinguished Alumni<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Ren Hirose<\/strong> (BBA &#699;85 <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa)<br \/>\nHirose is the general manager of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wscottsdalehotel.com\/\">W Scottsdale Hotel<\/a> and has held leadership roles within Starwood Hotels for almost 30 years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jillian Inouye<\/strong> (<abbr>BS<\/abbr> &#699;66, <abbr>MA<\/abbr> &#699;80, <abbr>PhD<\/abbr> &#699;87 <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa) <br \/>\nInouye serves as the associate dean for research for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unlv.edu\/ahs\">Schools of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences<\/a> and the Tony and Renee Marlon Angel Professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tom Shigemoto<\/strong> (<abbr>BFA<\/abbr> &#699;71 <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa) <br \/>\nShigemoto is vice president of planning at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abprop.com\/\">A&#038;B Properties, Inc.<\/a> on <span aria-label=\"Kauai\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span>. He is involved with project planning, real estate and infrastructural development and residential and agricultural subdivision projects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stanford Yuen<\/strong> (<abbr>BS<\/abbr> &#699;66 <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa) <br \/>\nYuen is principal of <a href=\"http:\/\/slcconsultinginc.com\/\"><abbr>SLC<\/abbr> Consulting<\/a>, specializing in strategic engagement, engineering management and intergovernmental affairs with the congressional delegation, state, city, legislature, private businesses, special interest organizations and schools.<\/p>\n<h2>2015 <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Founders Alumni Association Lifetime Achievement Award honoree<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Associate Justice Simeon Acoba, Jr.<\/strong> (ret.) (<abbr>BA<\/abbr><abbr> &#699;66 <\/abbr><abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa) <br \/>\nAcoba was appointed to the Supreme Court of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> in May 2000. He served until his mandatory retirement age in 2014. Prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court, he was an associate judge on the Intermediate Court of Appeals from 1994 to 2000, a circuit court judge from 1980 to 1994 and a per diem district court judge from 1979 to 1980. Acoba is a currently a lecturer at the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.hawaii.edu\/\">William S.
