There will be sessions on how melanoma affects people of different ethnic backgrounds in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>, how it spreads throughout the body and what the newest and most promising treatments are.<\/p>\n<p>Melanoma incidence rates have been increasing in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> for decades. It&#8217;s estimated that in 2015 more than 400 people will be diagnosed with melanoma in the state.<\/p>\n<p>At the symposium Asinate Vaivela, a 21-year-old Maui patient, will talk about her struggle with melanoma.
