Governor David Ige, the four county mayors, CEO<\/abbr> of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs<\/a> and University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span><\/a> President David Lassner<\/strong> have launched the Aloha+ Challenge Dashboard<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Aloha+ Challenge Dashboard is a new online tool designed for the public and decision makers to track state and county progress towards achieving sustainability targets. <\/p>\n

The dashboard initially features indicators for two of the six targets—clean energy and solid waste reduction. Indicators for all six shared targets will be available by 2017.<\/p>\n

Lassner said, “The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> continues to partner with the state to be an incubator for sustainability innovation, to help catalyze and contribute to Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>’s developing green economy, and to develop graduates who are engaged global citizens and problem solvers.”<\/p>\n

In February, UH<\/abbr> adopted an executive policy on sustainability<\/a> that sets a number of significant goals, including carbon neutrality by 2050. UH<\/abbr> is also working to develop a funding approach that can accelerate implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects to reduce the university’s energy consumption and costs.<\/p>\n
