Oustanding women in education will inspire and inform at the Women Leaders in Higher Education<\/a>’s annual conference at Leeward Community College<\/a> on Saturday, April 18, 2015. The conference runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will feature women university leaders from across the state.<\/p>\n

Former University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Executive Vice President\/Provost for Academic Affairs Linda Johnsrud will participate in a morning panel discussion and present at a breakout session entitled, “Leading for Change.” Johnsrud currently serves as vice chancellor for academic affairs for the University of Texas System<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Attendees will also benefit from participation in discussions on topics such as how to implement the regulations required in Title IX<\/abbr>, how to balance personal and professional responsibilities and how to develop leadership skills.<\/p>\n

Women Leaders in Higher Education is a networking organization of women leaders in higher education and draws its membership from both public and private universities across the state. It is affiliate with the American Council on Education<\/a> (ACE<\/abbr>) Women’s Network.<\/p>\n

Last year, about 150 women attended the conference. Registration for this year’s conference can be found at the Women Leaders in Higher Education website<\/a>.<\/p>\n
