Previously, <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa nursing was ranked in 99<sup>th<\/sup> place.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com\/best-graduate-schools\/top-nursing-schools\"><em>U.S. News &amp; World Report<\/em> 2016 Best Graduate Nursing Schools<\/a> ranking of master&#8217;s and doctoral degree programs in nursing assessed quality through student selectivity and achievement, faculty resources and research activity. More than 500 nursing programs accredited by either the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aacn.nche.edu\/ccne-accreditation\">Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education<\/a> or the <a href=\"Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing\">Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing<\/a> were invited to participate but only 246 were ranked.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com\/best-graduate-schools\/top-nursing-schools\/nur-rankings?int=a23009\">View the <em>U.S. News &amp; World Report<\/em> graduate nursing rankings<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Said <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nursing.hawaii.edu\/home\">School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene<\/a> Dean <strong>Mary Boland<\/strong>, &ldquo;Strong graduate nursing education is key to ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>. Our focus on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nursing.hawaii.edu\/graduate\">advanced practice and doctoral education<\/a> provides <abbr>RNs<\/abbr> access to the lifelong learning needed for success in fast-paced high technology care environments.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The newly expanded nursing school rankings&#8212;the first ratings of their kind to use reputational and statistical indicators&#8212;offer guidance to the increasing number of nurses interested in advanced practice, teaching and gaining specialized skills.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2015, <em>U.S. News &amp; World Report<\/em> also ranked <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa nursing 70<sup>th<\/sup> out of 133 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usnews.com\/education\/online-education\/nursing\">online graduate nursing programs<\/a>. The 2015 Best Online Programs rankings include essential, detailed statistical information on more than 1,200 programs nationwide.
