A new international five-year agreement promotes research collaboration between the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa College of Engineering<\/a> and China’s Zhejiang University College of Civil Engineering and Architecture<\/a> in various areas of civil and environmental engineering.<\/p>\n

“The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is ecstatic about our new international collaboration” with Chinese colleagues, said C.S. Papacostas<\/strong>, department chair.<\/p>\n

In addition to joint research endeavors, the recently signed memorandum of understanding between the two institutions calls for development of exchange programs for faculty and doctoral students and possible establishment of a new English instruction-based curriculum for Zhejiang.<\/p>\n

Ten years older than the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> and based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang is a key comprehensive institution offering studies in philosophy, literature, history, education, science, economics, law, management, engineering, agriculture and medicine.<\/p>\n

Mānoa’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering<\/a> has expertise in construction management, environmental and water resources engineering and geotechnical, structural and transportation engineering.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
