As it’s first show of the new year, Gallery ʻIolani<\/span><\/a> at Windward Community College<\/a> presents Into View<\/em><\/a>, an exhibition of two emerging curators—Erika Enomoto<\/strong> and Shulang Zou<\/strong>—curating emerging artists in an exhibition of “narcissists” featuring the work of 12 visual artists from the Oʻahu<\/span> community. Into View<\/em> runs January 30–February 27.<\/p>\n

“The artists belong to the millennial generation, born between the early-80s to mid-90s. This generation is ubiquitously defined as ‘deluded,’ ‘narcissistic’ and ‘entitled.’ Into View<\/em> endeavors to deepen the understanding of who millennial artists are, what their concerns may be and whether or not they embrace, reject or otherwise feel ambivalently toward being labeled as ‘narcissists.’ The exhibition aims to look at the ways in which millennial artists working on Oʻahu<\/span> negotiate the contemporary art world on their own terms.”

Featured artists include Jake Boggs, Andrea Charuk, Jan Dickey, Jordan Harrison, Neilson Ishida, Alina Kawai, Laura Konecne, Kalani Largusa, Eric Ricky Allen Peters, Landon Tom, Lauren Trangmar and Andrew Yamauchi.<\/p>\n

Gallery ʻIolani<\/span> hours are Monday through Friday and Sunday, 1–5 p.m. and closed on Saturday.<\/p>\n
