Former University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Regent<\/a> and retired Bank of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span><\/a> CEO Allan Landon<\/strong> was nominated by President Barack Obama to fill an opening on the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a White House news release<\/a> President Obama said, “Allan Landon has the proven experience, judgment and deep knowledge of the financial system to serve at the Federal Reserve during this important time for our economy. He brings decades of leadership and expertise from various roles, particularly as a community banker. I’m confident that he will serve our country well.”<\/p>\n

Landon is a partner in Community BanCapital<\/a> and served as Bank of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> CEO and chairman from 2004 until 2010.<\/p>\n

“It’s a terrific honor for Al to be nominated to the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors. He is an outstanding leader and possesses a keen intellect and understanding of the community banking system. During his tenure at Bank of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>, Al navigated the organization deftly through the financial crisis. He should make an outstanding addition to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors,” said Peter Ho, chairman and CEO of Bank of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Corporation.<\/p>\n

From 2005 through 2009 he served on the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Board of Regents and was board chair from 2007 to 2009. After retiring in 2010, he served as a lecturer at the Â鶹´«Ã½Mānoa William S. Richardson School of Law.<\/p>\n
