The performance and presentation are free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>The <abbr>UH<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> Distinguished Visiting Scholars Program brings seasoned scholars and practitioners in the humanities, social sciences and indigenous arts, traditions and cultures to <abbr>UH<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> for the benefit of students, faculty, staff and the community.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/macbeth.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/macbeth.jpg\" alt=\"macbeth\" width=\"400\" height=\"345\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-28395\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/macbeth.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/macbeth-260x224.jpg 260w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<li><strong><span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Shakespeare Festival Touring Show: <em>Macbeth<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nOctober 16, 5&#8211;6 p.m.<br \/>\n<abbr>UH<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> Campus Center Multi-purpose Room, C208<\/p>\n<p>A touring company of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaiishakes.org\/\"><span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Shakespeare Festival<\/a> will perform Shakespeare&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/hawaiishakespeare.wordpress.com\/2014\/09\/02\/macbeth\/\"><em>Macbeth<\/em><\/a> in a free performance. <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Shakespeare Festival Director Tony Pisculli will host a discussion following the play. For more information, visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/hawaiishakespeare.wordpress.com\/\"><span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Shakespeare Festival website<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Specificity\/Universality: The Role of Hawaiian Knowledge in the Transformation of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nOctober 22, 6&#8211;8:30 p.m.<br \/>\n<abbr>UH<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> Campus Center Multi-purpose Room, C208<\/p>\n<p><abbr>UH<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> Distinguished Visiting Scholars Manulani Aluli Meyer and <a href=\"http:\/\/maoorganicfarms.org\/\"><span aria-label=\"MAO\">MA&#699;O<\/span> Organic Farms<\/a> Co-founder Kukui Maunakea-Forth will discuss the role of Hawaiian knowledge and practices in creating an abundant life that is appropriate for the special place that is <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Meyer is an international keynote speaker and has published extensively on the topic of native intelligence and its synergistic linkages to quantum sciences, transformational evaluation practices and liberation theology. She was the 2005&#8211;2006 International Indigenous Scholar at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.maramatanga.co.nz\/\">Ng&#257; Pae o te M&#257;ramatanga<\/a>, the Center for M&#257;ori Research Excellence at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.auckland.ac.nz\/en.html\">University of Auckland<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Maunakea-Forth is the co-founder of <span aria-label=\"MAO\">MA&#699;O<\/span> Organic Farms in <span aria-label=\"Waianae\">Wai&#699;anae<\/span> and is executive director of Kauhale <span aria-label=\"O Waianae\">&#699;O Wai&#699;anae<\/span>, a programmatic merger between <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seariderproductions.com\/\">Searider Productions<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.makahastudios.com\/\">M&#257;kaha Studios<\/a> and <span aria-label=\"MAO\">MA&#699;O<\/span> Organic Farms.
