Lui Hokoana<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

At a meeting on October 16 on Maui, the Board of Regents<\/a> unanimously approved the appointment of Lui Hokoana as chancellor of the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Maui College’s<\/a>. His appointment begins on December 1, 2014. <\/p>\n

Hokoana started his higher education career at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> in 1991 and currently serves as the vice chancellor for student affairs at UH<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span><\/a> since 2013. He also served as associate vice president for student affairs for UH<\/abbr> System<\/a>, vice chancellor of student affairs at Windward Community College<\/a> and director for various programs at UH<\/abbr> Maui College.<\/p>\n

Hokoana has secured more than $20 million in county, state, federal and private funds to support various UH<\/abbr> systemwide initiatives that have contributed to unprecedented enrollment growth, financial aid access, service to underrepresented groups and overall student success. He was named State Manager of the Year by the State of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> in 2011.<\/p>\n
