The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>’s Oʻahu<\/span> campuses kicked off their 2014 Aloha United Way<\/a> campaign on September 15. The campaign, which runs through October 17, aims to touch lives, restore hope and weave a safety net of compassion beneath the Oʻahu<\/span> community.<\/p>\n

UH<\/abbr> continues its tradition of supporting Aloha United Way with a goal of $320,000. Updates on participation levels at each Oʻahu<\/span> campus will be reported in UH<\/abbr> News.<\/p>\n

Faculty members and staff are encouraged to show their spirit by helping to make their campus the leader in generosity. The smallest donation—the cost of a cup of coffee or a plate lunch, even pocket change—can make the biggest difference in strengthening families, preparing children for school and ensuring the hungry are fed and the homeless find stable housing.<\/p>\n

UH<\/abbr>–AUW<\/abbr> softball tournament<\/h2>\n

UH<\/abbr>’s Oʻahu<\/span> campuses will also hold their 8th University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Aloha United Way Charity Softball Tournament on Friday, October 17, 5:30–10 p.m. at UH<\/abbr> Mānoa’s Les Murakami Stadium. For more than 90 years, Aloha United Way has served as a fundraiser for Oʻahu<\/span> non-profit organizations.<\/p>\n

Donations help critical community service organizations assist more than 500,000 individuals in Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>, in areas from education to poverty prevention.<\/p.\n\n<\/p>\n
