This season will feature a variety of productions from the supernatural hilarity of <em>Blithe Spirit<\/em> to the enchanting Hawaiian language adaptation of <em><span aria-label=\"Laieikawai\">L&#257;&#699;ieikawai<\/span><\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2>2014-2015 Mainstage productions<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Blithe Spirit<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nOctober 3, 4, 10, 11 at 8 p.m.<br \/>\nOctober 5 and 12 at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The smash comedy hit of the London and Broadway stages, this much-revived classic offers up a fussy, cantankerous novelist, who is remarried but haunted (literally) by the ghost of his late first wife after she is called up by &ldquo;happy medium&rdquo; Madame Arcati. Charles&#8217; present wife is none too pleased with sharing her house or her husband with the spirit world. Worldly and unworldly personalities clash in a battle to see which blithe spirit will win. A pre-Halloween treat!<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>The <abbr>BFG<\/abbr> (Big Friendly Giant)<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nNovember 14, 15, 22 at 7:30 p.m.<br \/>\nNovember 22 at 4:30 p.m.<br \/>\nNovember 23 at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Roald Dahl&#8217;s classic book about the 24-feet-high Big Friendly Giant and a little orphan named Sophie brings to the stage some of his most memorable characters. <abbr>BFG<\/abbr> and Sophie team up to save the children of England from the child-eating giants, Bloodbottler, Fleshlumpeater, Bonecruncher, Meatdripper, Childchewer, and Gizzardgulper. Though the book is intended for young readers, audiences of all ages will laugh out loud at this lovable character.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong><em><span aria-label=\"Laieikawai\">L&#257;&#699;ieikawai<\/span><\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nFebruary 20, 21, 27, 28 at 8 p.m.<br \/>\nFebruary 22 and March 1 at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The inaugural production in the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> at M&#257;noa&#8217;s new Hawaiian theatre program. This stage adaptation of the traditional Hawaiian <span aria-label=\"moolelo\">mo&#699;olelo<\/span> (story) of <span aria-label=\"Laieikawai\">L&#257;&#699;ieikawai<\/span> will feature hula, <span aria-label=\"oli\">&#699;oli<\/span> (chant), mele (song), and will be performed entirely in Hawaiian. Co-sponsored by the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa <a href=\"http:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/hshk\/\"><span aria-label=\"Hawaiinuiakea\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½nui\u0101kea<\/span> School of Hawaiian Knowledge<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/hshk\/kawaihuelani\/\">Kawaihuelani Center for Hawaiian Language<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Dancing Off the Page<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nApril 17, 18, 24, 25 at 8 p.m.<br \/>\nApril 26 at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa dancers leap off the page in this year&#8217;s Annual Dance Concert with slam poets and beatboxers.
