The website is a comprehensive guide to accredited online PhD programs. <\/p>\n<p>The article points out that academic research is a driving force behind innovation in science, technology and culture. The published list comprises 100 notable professors who are conducting compelling research in disparate fields at some of the top research universities in the U.S. They all work at universities that are designated as High Research Activity or Very High Research Activity on the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. <\/p>\n<h2>About Klaus Sattler<\/h2>\n<p>At the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uni-konstanz.de\/en\/welcome\/\">University of Konstanz<\/a> in Southern Germany Sattler built the first source for atomic clusters, which became one of the foundations for today&#8217;s nanoscience and nanotechnology. He also initiated the first experiments for atomic clusters on solid supports at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.berkeley.edu\/index.html\">University of California, Berkeley<\/a>. In 1988, Sattler joined <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phys.hawaii.edu\/\">physics department<\/a> as a full professor, where he built a laboratory for nanophysics and his group produced the first carbon nanocones, with fascinating structural and physical properties.<\/p>\n<p>Sattler has also published extensively&#8212;in 1996, he published the first book, <em>Cluster-Assembled Materials<\/em>, a main contribution to materials science and the physics of condensed matter.
