The report was delivered at the August 20 <abbr>BOR<\/abbr> meeting at <span lang=\"haw\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> Community College.<\/p>\n<p>Hensel reported that <abbr>UH<\/abbr> secured $647.3 million in extramural funding in fiscal year 2026, the second-highest total in university history and the fifth consecutive year above $500 million. She also provided an update on the leadership transition at <span lang=\"haw\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> <abbr title=\"Community College\">CC<\/abbr>, where Interim Vice President for Community Colleges and <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Maui College Chancellor Lui Hokoana is serving as interim chancellor while <abbr>UH<\/abbr> prepares an interim chancellor for the campus and the launch of a national search for a permanent leader.<\/p>\n<p>Hensel also highlighted <abbr>UH<\/abbr>\u2019s inaugural <abbr title=\"artificial intelligence\">AI<\/abbr> Institute Day, which brought together 546 participants from across the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> System on August 11, and the launch of the \u2019Bows Athletics Club and Shoji Society, two new initiatives designed to strengthen annual and transformational giving to
