Krystyna Aune<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Krystyna Aune has been named the new dean of graduate education at UH<\/abbr> Mānoa effective March 31, 2014.<\/p>\n

Aune is currently interim associate vice chancellor for academic affairs as well as a professor in the Mānoa College of Arts and Humanities Department of Communicology<\/a>. The Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Kai resident has extensive administrative experience at UH<\/abbr> Mānoa at different levels of management.<\/p>\n

Prior to her current appointment in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs<\/a>, Aune was interim associate dean at the College of Arts and Humanities and chair and director of graduate studies in the Department of Communicology. Her primary responsibilities as interim associate vice chancellor include curriculum review, program actions, program review, professional accreditation, handling student academic matters, professional development, and new classroom environments and technology.<\/p>\n

Said Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Reed Dasenbrock, “Nearly one third of the students at UH<\/abbr> Mānoa are graduate students, so it is crucial to the welfare of the campus that the Office of Graduation Education<\/a> be led by a strong capable dean. We have found such a dean in Krystyna Aune.”<\/p>\n

Aune obtained her PhD<\/abbr> from the University of Arizona in communication with a minor in psychology, and holds a MS<\/abbr> and BS<\/abbr> in Communication and Psychology, respectively, from Illinois State University.<\/p>\n
