University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa men\u2019s volleyball player Ofeck Hazan earned the NCAA<\/abbr> Elite Scholar-Athlete award<\/a> for the 2026 National Collegiate Men’s Volleyball Championship.<\/p>\n

Hazan is majoring in finance and currently carries a 4.0 grade-point-average (GPA<\/abbr>).<\/p>\n

The Elite Scholar-Athlete award recognizes the true essence of student-athletes by honoring the individuals who have reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in their sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among their peers. The award is presented to the student athlete with the highest cumulative GPA<\/abbr> participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA<\/abbr>‘s championships.<\/p>\n

This marks the second UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa student athlete to receive the award this season after water polo’s Gabrielle Doyle was honored in April. Hazan is also the second Rainbow Warrior volleyball player to claim the award, joining K\u0101naʻi<\/span> Akana (2022).<\/p>\n
