Feedback links are available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/executivesearch\/chancellor\/\"><abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa chancellor search website<\/a> and will be accepted through Friday, May 8.<\/p>\n<p>Videos of each candidate&#8217;s campus forum&#8212;where finalists presented their vision for <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa and participated in a question-and-answer session&#8212;are also available on the website for reference.<\/p>\n<p>The finalists are (in order of their campus visit):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/executivesearch\/chancellor\/pdf\/VS-CV.pdf\">Vassilis L. Syrmos<\/a>, interim provost at <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/executivesearch\/chancellor\/pdf\/AS-CV-redacted.pdf\">Amy Sueyoshi<\/a>, provost and vice president of academic affairs at San Francisco State University<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/executivesearch\/chancellor\/pdf\/WJK-CV.pdf\">W. John Kao<\/a>, president of National Tsing Hua University (Taiwan)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each finalist visited the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa campus, participated in a public forum and met with campus stakeholders and constituent groups.<\/p>\n<h2>Search launch, role responsibilities<\/h2>\n<p>A national search was launched in February to select the next <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa chancellor. Currently, the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> president holds <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa chancellor responsibilities, while academic affairs, research, enrollment management and student affairs are led by the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa provost.<\/p>\n<p>Separating these roles and recreating the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa chancellor position was discussed by the Board of Regents during the 2024 <abbr>UH<\/abbr> presidential search. <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa is the only <abbr>UH<\/abbr> campus without a dedicated chancellor.<\/p>\n<p>The goal is to appoint the next <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa chancellor with a start date as early as July 2026.
