University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa Athletics<\/a> and Hawaii New Now made a joint statement on April 6 regarding a local media rights partnership.<\/p>\n

“The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa Athletics Department has engaged in a competitive bidding process for a local media rights partnership to bring its sporting events and talented student-athletes to a broad audience. After careful consideration, Hawaii News Now has been selected as the highest rated offeror and is being awarded the first opportunity to negotiate and finalize a broadcasting rights concession agreement with UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa.”<\/p>\n

The details of the arrangement are being discussed over the next few weeks. Both parties are optimistic about an outcome that will benefit UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa, Rainbow Warrior and Rainbow Wahine fans everywhere and Hawaii News Now. Once an agreement is reached, both parties look forward to making a joint public announcement and moving forward together in the new school year, which will commence on July 1, 2026.<\/p>\n

This comes after the Mountain West Conference announced its media rights package with CBS<\/abbr> Sports, Fox Sports and the CW<\/abbr> on February 3.<\/p>\n
