Former University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa track and field coach Rick Nakashima received the 2025 K\u0101ne Fernandez Community Service Award, presented by the UH<\/abbr> Letterwinners Club<\/a>, on March 28.<\/p>\n

As CEO<\/abbr>-Partner of Ruby Tuesday Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>, Nakashima has supported UH<\/abbr> Athletics through programs such as the Braddahhood and Sistahhood Grindz, providing supplemental meals for student-athletes, and has donated tens of thousands of meals to those in need. He also partnered with Aloha United Way to raise funds for community initiatives.<\/p>\n

The annual award honors the late K\u0101ne Fernandez and recognizes past UH<\/abbr> letterwinners who volunteer selflessly to advance the community.<\/p>\n
