This new website reflects the university\u2019s commitment to shaping <abbr>AI<\/abbr> in a way that deepens knowledge and serves the community while honoring its mission as an Indigenous-serving institution.<\/p>\n<p>A key feature of the website are the <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaii.edu\/oneai\/#communities-of-practice\"><abbr>AI<\/abbr> Communities of Practice<\/a>, designed to help peers collaborate and share resources across the 10-campus system. These specialized groups allow <abbr>UH<\/abbr> faculty and staff to join discussions via Google Groups and share ideas on Padlet.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The new <abbr>UH<\/abbr> One<abbr>AI<\/abbr> Hub and our Communities of Practice are vital steps in our strategic roadmap for <abbr>AI<\/abbr> integration,&rdquo; said Gloria Niles, <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Chief Academic Technology Innovation Officer. &ldquo;By collaborating across our campuses, we can thoughtfully implement these technologies to enhance our instructional environments and administrative operations, always ensuring our progress aligns with Native Hawaiian values.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<h2>Communities of Practice:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Teaching and Learning<\/strong>: For instructors, instructional designers and librarians to share practical strategies for the current semester.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Research and Discovery<\/strong>: Focused on methods and tools to accelerate research for faculty, graduate students and lab staff.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Student Support<\/strong>: Aimed at advisors, career services and tutoring centers to develop repeatable approaches that improve student-facing services.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Operations and Administration<\/strong>: Designed for <abbr title=\"Human Resources\">HR<\/abbr>, finance and <abbr title=\"Information Technology\">IT<\/abbr> staff to create simple workflows that reduce friction in everyday work.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Communications and Community Engagement<\/strong>: For outreach teams and media staff to develop clear, consistent <abbr>AI<\/abbr> messaging for <abbr>UH<\/abbr> and its communities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Governance, Policy and Risk<\/strong>: For policy owners and leadership to establish shared guardrails that enable innovation while protecting people and data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><abbr>AI<\/abbr> Foundations course, more<\/h2>\n<p>In addition, the website will serve as a gateway for professional development. The first chapter of the <abbr>AI<\/abbr> Foundations course, which will help users explore <abbr>AI<\/abbr>, will officially launch on March 29. A new chapter of the course will be released weekly over twelve weeks.
