The <strong><abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa<\/strong>, <strong><abbr>UH<\/abbr> West <span lang=\"haw\">O&#699;ahu<\/span><\/strong>, <strong>Windward <abbr>CC<\/abbr><\/strong>, <strong>Leeward <abbr>CC<\/abbr><\/strong>, <span lang=\"haw\">Kapi&#699;olani<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr> and <strong>Honolulu <abbr>CC<\/abbr><\/strong> campuses are experiencing power outages. The campuses will remain closed until further notice.<\/p>\n<p>All University of <span lang=\"haw\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> campuses will be closed on Friday, March 13, due to severe weather expected to impact the state, including heavy rain, flash flooding, severe thunderstorms and high winds. The Friday closure includes all scheduled classes and events, including the OUTRIGGER Invitational men\u2019s volleyball tournament and a Rainbow Wahine softball game at <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> <span lang=\"haw\">M&#257;noa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><abbr>Gov.<\/abbr> Josh Green announced on Thursday, March 12, the statewide suspension of non-essential state services for Friday, March 13, following the emergency declaration issued on March 9. The <span lang=\"haw\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> State <abbr title=\"Department of Education\">DOE<\/abbr> also announced the closure of public schools on <span lang=\"haw\">O&#699;ahu,<\/span> <span lang=\"haw\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> and in Maui County during the governor\u2019s press conference.<\/p>\n<h2><span lang=\"haw\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> County&#8212;Decision Pending<\/h2>\n<p>Officials in <span lang=\"haw\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> County have not yet made a decision regarding closures and are coordinating closely with the governor\u2019s office. Students and employees on <span lang=\"haw\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Island are advised to monitor local media and official announcements for updates. If closures are announced for those campuses, <abbr>UH<\/abbr> will send an additional message.<\/p>\n<h2>Saturday outdoor events canceled<\/h2>\n<p>As a proactive measure, all outdoor events scheduled at <abbr>UH<\/abbr> facilities for Saturday, March 14, are also canceled. This includes the <span lang=\"haw\">Kapi&#699;olani<\/span> Community College Farmers Market, the Maui College Swap Meet and the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> <span lang=\"haw\">M&#257;noa<\/span> Rainbow Wahine softball game.<\/p>\n<p>A decision will be made tomorrow on whether conditions warrant additional closures for Saturday, including Saturday classes and the OUTRIGGER Invitational men\u2019s volleyball tournament.<\/p>\n<h2><abbr>UH<\/abbr> Operations for <span lang=\"haw\">O&#699;ahu,<\/span> <span lang=\"haw\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> and Maui County<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><abbr>UH<\/abbr> campuses are closed.<\/li>\n<li>In-person and online classes for these campuses are canceled.
