The <abbr>LIFE<\/abbr> program is supported by <abbr title=\"United States Department of Agriculture\">USDA<\/abbr> funding through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2023\/06\/15\/life-program-usda-boost\/\">2501 grant program<\/a> through September 2026.<\/p>\n<p>During the past three years, the program team has worked with partners to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead or support more than 60 workshops and outreach events across six islands.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver one&#8211;on&#8211;one consultations in many languages.<\/li>\n<li>Create <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@UHM-LIFE\">training videos<\/a> on drip irrigation basics and pesticide safety.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Tools for connection<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/manoa-ctahr-farm-language-2-257x300.jpg\" alt=\"people working outside\" width=\"257\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-230398\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/manoa-ctahr-farm-language-2-257x300.jpg 257w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/manoa-ctahr-farm-language-2-111x130.jpg 111w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/manoa-ctahr-farm-language-2.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 257px) 100vw, 257px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><abbr>CTAHR<\/abbr> provides 24\/7 access to a telephone interpreter service capable of identifying and translating dozens of languages, including <span lang=\"haw\">&#699;&#332;lelo<\/span> <span lang=\"haw\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½,<\/span> Ilocano, Thai, Lao and Mandarin, within seconds.
