University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa men\u2019s volleyball<\/a> player Kainoa Wade was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA<\/abbr> ) Division I-II<\/abbr> National Player of the Week after leading the Rainbow Warriors to a three-match sweep of their road trip to Pennsylvania, January 28\u201331, with wins over Saint Francis and Penn State.<\/p>\n

The opposite earned his first career player of the week award after also being selected as the Big West’s Offensive Player of the Week. For the week, he totaled a team-best 44 kills and 55 points.<\/p>\n

Wade also led the team with seven aces, 19 digs and eight blocks in the three matches. He matched his career-high with 21 kills, hitting .450 with three aces, five digs and four blocks in a four-set win over Penn State to close out the road trip.<\/p>\n

In addition, Wade had nine kills, three aces, five digs, and two blocks in the series opener against Penn State, opening the trip with a team-high 14 kills, with one ace, a career-high nine digs, and two blocks against Saint Francis.<\/p>\n

UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa (10\u20131) has a bye week, and remains No.<\/abbr> 3 in the AVCA<\/abbr> top 20 Coaches Poll. The \u2018Bows will next play a pair of road matches at Stanford on February 13\u201314.<\/p>\n
