Ten food entrepreneurs from Leeward Community College\u2019s Wahiaw\u0101 Value-Added Product Development Center (<abbr>WVAPDC<\/abbr>) joined more than 700 brands from around the world to showcase specialty foods to more than 12,000 industry professionals.<\/p>\n<p>The <abbr>WVAPDC<\/abbr> cohort, supported in partnership with the State of <span lang=\"haw\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½\u2019s<\/span> Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism\u2019s <span lang=\"haw\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> Made program, featured a diverse mix of products rooted in local ingredients from companies including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.daguzancharcuterie.com\/\">Daguzan Charcuterie<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/galleonchocolate.com\/\">Galleon Chocolate<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/honobonohawaii\/reels\/?hl=en\">Honobono<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.madreschurros.com\/home\">Madres Churros<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/mauicocktailkits.com\">Maui Cocktail Kits<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ohelos.com\/\">Ohelo&#8217;s<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/okonokai.com\/\">Okonokai<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/pikoprovisions.com\">Piko Provisions<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thislilpiggy.com\/\">This Lil Piggy<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucookhawaii.com\/\">uCook <span lang=\"haw\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Ready for national markets<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_228426\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-228426\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/wvapdc-2026-winter-fancyfaire-2-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"2 people at booth\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-228426\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/wvapdc-2026-winter-fancyfaire-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/wvapdc-2026-winter-fancyfaire-2-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/wvapdc-2026-winter-fancyfaire-2.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-228426\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">uCook <span lang=\"haw\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>, a Honolulu-based sauce and marinade company joined the 2026 cohort of <span lang=\"haw\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> makers.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This year marked the <abbr>WVAPDC<\/abbr>\u2019s largest presence at the show, expanding from eight companies in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;That growth reflects increasing readiness among <span lang=\"haw\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> businesses to enter national markets,&rdquo; said Chris Bailey, <abbr>WVAPDC<\/abbr> manager. On the show floor, that readiness translated into real demand.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Our biggest takeaway was validating that there is strong, growing demand for food that is both deeply values-driven and genuinely delicious,&rdquo; said Ethan West, founder of Piko Provisions, a baby and family foods company that incorporates crops indigenous to <span lang=\"haw\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Piko Provisions debuted new <span lang=\"haw\">L&#363;&#699;au<\/span> Stew and Pitaya Bowl pur\u00e9es developed in close collaboration with the <abbr>WVAPDC<\/abbr>\u2019s staff.
