Long Beach State was ranked third with five first place votes and 460 points.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Bows finished last season with a <abbr title=\"Number\">No.<\/abbr> 3 final <abbr>AVCA<\/abbr> ranking after advancing to the <abbr title=\"National Collegiate Athletic Association\">NCAA<\/abbr> Championship semifinal round. The <abbr title=\"Number\">No.<\/abbr> 3 ranking marked the eighth consecutive year with a top 5 national finish. <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa completed the year with a 27\u20136 record and captured its fourth Big West Championship title, defeating eventual national champion Long Beach State in the championship match.<\/p>\n<p>Head Coach Charlie Wade, who became the program&#8217;s all-time winningest coach last season, is entering his <abbr title=\"Seventeenth\">17th<\/abbr> season at the helm with a career record of 319\u2013131.<\/p>\n<p><abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa\u2019s schedule features seven teams ranked in the preseason top 10 and 11 teams in the top 20.
