University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa quarterback Micah Alejado was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week for the sixth time this season after leading the Rainbow Warriors to a 27\u20137 home victory over Wyoming. The Rainbow Warriors are awaiting their bowl game assignment after wrapping up the regular season with an 8-4 overall record and 5-3 in conference play.<\/p>\n

The redshirt freshman has received the award seven times in his career after winning it for the first time last season.<\/p>\n

Alejado set a new UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa freshman single-season record throwing his 20th<\/abbr> and 21st<\/abbr> touchdown passes against Wyoming, surpassing Timmy Chang (19 in the 2000 season). He completed 17-of-24 attempts for 289 yards and a pair of scoring strikes to Cam Barfield and Jackson Harris.<\/p>\n

In total, UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa has received 17 Mountain West player of the week awards this season\u2014three offensive, three defensive, five special teams and six freshmen\u2014by far, the most in a single-season in program history, breaking the previous mark of seven in 2021.<\/p>\n
