This year, faculty and staff from <abbr>UH<\/abbr>&#8216;s <span lang=\"haw\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> campuses contributed almost $90,000 toward strengthening programs that support <span lang=\"haw\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½\u2019s<\/span> most vulnerable.<\/p>\n<p><abbr>AUW<\/abbr>, which has supported <span lang=\"haw\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> communities for more than 100 years, provides critical funding to local nonprofits offering services in education, poverty prevention and essential safety-net programs. One of <abbr>AUW<\/abbr>\u2019s most relied-upon resources is the <abbr>AUW<\/abbr> 211 Helpline, the state\u2019s only comprehensive information and referral service connecting residents with food assistance, housing support, childcare options and other urgent needs.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We are deeply grateful to every member of the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> <span lang=\"haw\">&#699;ohana<\/span> who has contributed. We\u2019re helping shape a healthier, stronger future for <span lang=\"haw\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>,&rdquo; said <abbr>UH<\/abbr> President Wendy Hensel. &ldquo;Every contribution, no matter the size, has the power to change lives.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><abbr>UH<\/abbr>\u2019s contributions help sustain a wide range of community programs, from preparing keiki for school success to providing meals to food-insecure families. Each donation ensures that individuals and families across the islands can access the resources they need to recover, grow and thrive.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Thank you for your incredible generosity\u2014especially now, when so many in our community are in need.
