Federally funded extramural projects, subawards and Research and Training Revolving Fund use have all returned to standard procedures.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/windward-foodbank-2025-5-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteers with food donations\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-225061\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/windward-foodbank-2025-5-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/windward-foodbank-2025-5-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/windward-foodbank-2025-5.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To help students facing financial hardship from the prolonged shutdown, Hensel reaffirmed a temporary grace period that allows students to register for spring 2026 despite unpaid fall 2025 balances. Payment plans will be available in January 2026.<\/p>\n<p>She also highlighted food distribution efforts at Windward and Leeward Community Colleges in partnership with <span lang=\"haw\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Foodbank, and a <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Athletics food drive.<\/p>\n<p>Hensel provided an update on the major upgrade of the Banner Student Information System, expected to be largely in place by January 3, with full transition by summer. The modernization will improve integration, financial aid processing and mobile-friendly tools across the 10-campus system.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Federal Government Shutdown (<a
