The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> football team delivered a statement win on Saturday night at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex, toppling Mountain West leader San Diego State, 38-6, to move to 7-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play. The victory snapped a five-game losing streak to the Aztecs and marked UH<\/abbr>’s largest-ever win in the series, while the 38 points were the most scored against SDSU<\/abbr> since 2005.<\/p>\n

Quarterback Micah Alejado continued his standout season by throwing three touchdown passes, all to Jackson Harris, as UH<\/abbr>’s offense rolled to 386 total yards. Harris finished with 130 receiving yards and three first-half touchdowns, becoming the first player in the nation this year with five straight 100-yard receiving games.<\/p>\n

The Rainbow Warriors built a 24-6 halftime lead and broke the game open in the third quarter with a pair of highlight plays. Cam Barfield took the opening kickoff of the half 86 yards to the end zone—UH<\/abbr>’s first special teams touchdown since 2020—and defensive back Elijah Palmer added a 53-yard interception return for a score later in the quarter.<\/p>\n

UH<\/abbr>’s defense was equally dominant, holding the Aztecs—who entered atop several national defensive rankings—to just 132 passing yards and no touchdowns. Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> forced four turnovers, including two interceptions and two fumble recoveries, while allowing only 12 first downs.<\/p>\n

With the win, Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> climbed to third in the Mountain West standings, keeping alive hopes for a berth in the conference championship game. The Warriors’ seven victories are their most since 2019, and their fifth straight game scoring 30 or more points matches the program’s longest streak since 2011.<\/p>\n
