In an effort to help and make a difference within the state of Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> and on campus, the University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa Athletics Department<\/a> will partner with the Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> Foodbank<\/a> and the university\u2019s Office of the Vice Provost for Student Success<\/a>, for a three-day food drive centered around UH<\/abbr> sporting events to help residents and students in need, who have recently been affected due to the government shutdown.<\/p>\n

“We know cheering on our teams creates joy for fans,” Athletics Director Matt Elliott said. “But there are times, like now, where we can play another important role in our community. Many of our friends within our state and on campus are being affected by the shutdown and we want to do our part to help. We\u2019ve said it and we\u2019ll continue to live it, this is “Our Team, Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>\u2019s Team,” and we\u2019ll always be here to help.”<\/p>\n

Fans attending any UH<\/abbr> event this weekend can drop off nonperishable food items outside Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center at Gate A.<\/p>\n
